Geothermal

Many of us try our best to take better care of the environment. We also try to save money everywhere we can. A geothermal heating and cooling system provides a chance to do both.

Tap into the power of the earth with a geothermal heating and cooling system. Geothermal heat pumps are an eco-friendly way to achieve reliable, year-round comfort and impressive energy savings.

Save Money Later
A high-efficiency geothermal system uses less energy than conventional heating and cooling systems, resulting in energy savings each and every year. Calculate your potential savings.

How does it work?

Regardless of the season or outdoor temperature, the temperature underground stays consistent year-round. Geothermal systems use that temperature to help heat and cool your home via an underground loop system that is connected to a heat pump. That loop system contains a water/glycol mixture that constantly circulates and either pulls heat from the ground or distributes it back to the ground.

When it’s cold outside and your home needs heat, the system pulls heat from the ground. It sends that heat to the heat pump, which distributes heat through your home’s ductwork.

When it’s warm outside and your home needs cooling, the heat pump extracts warm air from your home, leaving you with cool, conditioned air. That heat is then moved back underground via the underground loop or used to preheat water in your home’s water heater.

Geothermal Benefits

A WaterFurnace geothermal unit can reduce your annual energy bill by up to 70% while also reducing your carbon footprint. By exchanging energy with the ground instead of the air, geothermal units are able to heat and cool your home more efficiently.

A series of underground pipes called a “loop” are placed beneath the ground and circulate a water-based solution between your home and the ground outside. This system circulates the solution, which then heats your home during the winter and cools it during the summer.

This helps reduce the amount of energy used because the ground maintains a constant temperature of 55-70 degrees Fahrenheit, while the air can be anywhere from -0 to more than 100 degrees. WaterFurnace geothermal units use less energy because they don’t have to work as hard to gather warm or cool air in extreme temperatures.

These systems have many different design options. Some loop systems are placed just a few feet beneath the ground while other systems can be as deep as 400 feet. Contractors are trained to design the best system for your home.

Environmental Benefits
Regardless of the design of your loop system, WaterFurnace geothermal units reduce the amount of electricity that is needed to heat and cool your home. This reduces the need for power plants, which are typically operated by using coal or natural gas, also helping reduce air pollution.

Cost Savings
In additional to reducing gas emissions, less energy use means more savings on your monthly energy bill. Geothermal units are more than twice as efficient as traditional air conditioning units and can give you $5 of heat for every $1 spent on energy compared to traditional heating systems.

A Trusted Name

With more than $100 million is annual sales, WaterFurnace is one of the most trusted names in geothermal heating and cooling technology. The company has been committed to improving its product every year since its establishment in 1983, and has done just that.

Even the best units need occasional maintenance to keep them in peak performance. T&M provides service on all brands of geothermal systems. Even if you didn’t but it from us, we can still provide the quality service you need so that you and your family can live comfortably.
